Junto con nuestro equipo nos dedicamos a custodiar una raza cuidadosamente seleccionada y pulida con especial atención a la genética para que estos perros vivan largas vidas libres de enfermedades genéticas, y criados para diversos fines tales como animal de compañía, varios trabajos, deportes, y con especial cuidado a conservar su carácter y temperamentos excepcionales, dado nuestro interés en que sean perros aptos para intervenciones asistidas con animales (IAA) y trabajo.
El perro Pastor Australiano Miniatura (Mini Aussie) es también conocido como Mini American o Pastor Americano Miniatura. Nuestros perros están registrados desde 2022 en este último registro, ya que la raza esta ahora reconocida desde 2019 por la FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale) de manera provisional, primer paso para alcanzar un reconocimiento completo. Aparte de su extraordinaria belleza y elegancia, es un perro altamente inteligente & activo, para quien aprender y trabajar es jugar y disfrutar. A pesar de su gran capacidad de ejercicio y actividad, tiende a ser relativamente tranquilo y muy cariñoso. Estas características, además de su tamaño compacto hacen de esta raza un perro de compañía maravilloso. Nuestro primer amor con el Mini Aussie fue en USA hace 30 años, de donde - a pesar de su nombre- origina esta raza con el nombre actual. Históricamente se traza la importación a EEUU del país vasco (entre Francia y España) de un perro con las características del Mini Aussie de tamaño mediano, similar al del Mini Aussie actual, para pastoreo de ovejas. Solo más tarde se crió para obtener tamaño superior al disminuir la tradición ovejera y aumentar el vacuno en el continente norteamericano de manera que emergió el tamaño grande o estándar (más de 46 cm a la cruz) de la raza. De manera que se puede decir que el Mini Aussie es el más cercano al Aussie original. En el 2015 adquirimos a nuestra primera compañera de trabajo Mini Aussie, Nala (Blessed P.D. Condesa de Pallares I Nala con LOE KCE348/22), rojo merle de 44 cm. Esta perra fue cuidadosamente elegida con procedencia de un linaje ejemplar, de una espléndida criadora en Alemania, Blessed Aussies, ahora jubilada, quien, aparte de criar esta preciosa raza, hace intervención asistida con sus perros. Esto asegura que haya elegido los ejemplares más propensos a ser compañeros cariñosos y que manifiesten un gran interés por aprender, aparte de estar en excelente salud. Conservamos también a Condesa’s Lucky Stardust Aya (LOE KCE350/22), una hembra tricolor negro nacida en el 2018, hija de Nala (y de Boldheart’s Rocket Cowboy “Rocky” de Sparkingheart, Alemania), su hermana de capa azul merle del mismo padre nacida en 2019, Condesa’s Bountiful Heart Bronte (LOE KCE348/22), y en el invierno del 2019 hemos incorporado a Ridgestar at Condesa Phoenix (LOE KCE348/22), un macho tricolor rojo muy tierno y elegante, criado por Ridgestar Aussies de EEUU. Todos nuestros perros participan o han participado en actividades de intervenciones asistidas. Pruebas genéticas: N/N o +/+ (o sea sin defectos hereditarios ni portadores) para Mielopatía Degenerativa (MD), Hipertermia Maligna (MH), Lipofuscinosis Neuronal Ceroide (NCL), Defecto genético MDR1, Atrofia progresiva de retina (prcd-PRA), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Catarata Hereditaria (CH), y exámenes oftalmológico, dentadura en tijera, y articulaciones (codos, rodillas, cadera) excelentes (A o B) / libre de defectos.
As a registered veterinarian breeder, together with my team we aim to be stewards of this breed, that has been carefully selected and polished to live a long and healthy happy dog life, avoiding genetic diseases through in depth testing, and breeding for diverse purposes such as companion pets, different types of work, athletics, with special attention to preserving their exceptional character and temperament given our interest in their use in therapy or work environments.
The Miniature Australian Shepherd (Mini Aussie) is also known as the Miniature American Shepherd (Mini American). Since 2022 our dogs are registered in the latter given the provisional recognition of the breed since 2019 by the FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale), the first step to full recognition. Apart from its extraordinary beauty and elegance, this is a highly intelligent and active dog, for which learning and working means playing and having a great time. Despite its great capacity for activity, the Mini Aussie is not only very affectionate but can also be very calm, unusual for a working breed. These traits, as well as its compact size (medium sized dog, our dogs are 12-18 kg on average) make the Mini Aussie a marvellous companion. Our first encounter with the breed was in the USA over 30 years ago, from which - despite the name - the breed originates. It is said it historically came from the Basque country between Spain & France as a medium sized dog similar in size to today's Mini Aussie for herding sheep but later was bred to a larger size for cattle herding as sheep production declined, resulting in the Standard size (taller than 48-50 cm at the withers, 25-35 kg on average). Therefore it can be said that the Mini Aussie is the closest to the original Aussie! In 2015 we acquired our first female companion, Nala, who has trained for assisted interventions (service therapy) is a red merle, 44 cm at the withers and 15 kg (Blessed P.D. Condesa de Pallares I Nala, LOE KCE348/22). She was carefully selected from a German breeder, Blessed Aussies (now retired as a breeder), who also does assisted interventions with her dogs. She bred dogs with both excellent health and temperament. This thoughtful approach to breeding is the best guarantee of achieving offspring with the best potential to become affectionate companions with a strong desire to learn, as well as being in excellent health provided they are given the right environment. We also have Condesa’s Lucky Stardust Aya (LOE KCE350/22), a black tricolor female born in 2018, daughter of Nala (x Boldheart’s Rocket Cowboy “Rocky” from Sparkingheart, Germany), her blue merl sister Condesa’s Bountiful Heart Bronte of the same sire born in 2019 (LOE KCE348/22), and Ridgestar at Condesa Phoenix (LOE KCE348/22), a red tricolor male that is very sweet and elegant, raised by Ridgestar Aussies (USA). All our dogs currently are involved to some degree in assisted interventions. Our line undergoes comprehensive testing: they are N/N o +/+ genotypes (free of defects and non carriers) for degenerative myelopathy (DM), malignant hyperthermia (MH), neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL), multidrug resistance defect MDR1, progressive retinal atrophy (prcd-PRA), collie eye anomaly (CEA), hereditary cataracts (HC), and eye, dental and joint exams demonstrating defect-free / excellent morphology.
